Productivity Tools™

Realize your LRS’s full potential.

Transcend’s Productivity Tools are a set of desktop applications and web tools to assist LRS maintenance users with workflows that are not fully addressed in LRS COTS products such as Esri’s Roads and Highways (R&H). The Productivity Tools can be used with R&H, but are also compatible with the basic ArcGIS LRS capabilities or other basic LRS data models. The Productivity Tools include 2 desktop tools (Route Dominance Manager and Intersection Manager) and 3 web tools (Segment Analyzer, Validation Assistant and Report Engine). Transcend’s HPMS Assistant product uses the Productivity Tools as its foundation.

Segment Analyzer™

Dynamically Segment Asset and Road Inventory Data

Read more about Segment Analyzer™

Segment Analyzer™ provides the ability to combine road characteristic data that has been modeled in un-segmented relational tables into segmented tables based on a variety of methods.

    • Basic Merge allows the user to combine data through a simple dynamic segmentation analysis and generate fully segmented results based on numerous road data tables with a common LRS base. This tool is often used to create fully denormalized flat data files for analysis, reporting, or input into other systems.
    • Dynamic Query allows users to select certain rows from a group of road data tables and merge them by intersecting the mileage extents, merging the mileage extents, or finding the locations where the query extents do not merge.
    • Advanced Merge allows users to hold an extent of roadway constant as a control and then aggregate data to that extent (e.g. HPMS Sample). Advanced Merge provides statistical tools to find predominant values, average values, weighted average values, or count occurrences along the extent (e.g. number of signals or intersections).

Validation Assistant™

Analyze and Resolve Data Descrepancies
Read more about Validation Assistant™

Validation Assistant™ performs data validations on single or multiple tables (cross-table validations) using LRS overlays (leverages Segment Analyzer). The results that meet or do not meet validations can then be stepped through in a map editing tool. If users have implemented Esri’s Roads & Highways, the results can be displayed in the Roadway Characteristics Editor (RCE) using the Validation Assistant widget. Users can review the records and resolve potential problems, or mark records as exceptions or anomalies that can be ignored.

Report Engine™

Design and Generate Custom Reports
Read more about Report Engine™

Report Engine™ is a web-based report builder and printing tool that allows users to create and print reports using the results from Segment Analyzer™, HPMS Assistant™, relational database tables and views, or Transcend’s straight line diagramming product Road Analyzer™.

Intersection Manager™ generates intersection locations, approach extents, and intersection characteristics from an agency’s geodatabase to assist transportation agencies with populating several of the Fundamental Data Elements (FDEs) recommended by FHWA and for use in Safety Analyst.

Route Dominance Manager™

Manage Route Concurrency in Linear Networks
Read more about Route Dominance Manager™

Route Dominance Manager™ assists with the management of concurrent road names in linear networks. The official or dominant route designation in a section of road with multiple route designations is usually defined by a set of prescribed rules based on the route type, route number, or other designations. Exceptions to the established rules, however, are not uncommon. The Route Dominance Manager tool provides a means for storing all the dominant routes, including exceptions, so the proper route mileages can be obtained directly from the database without geoprocessing tools. The tool also provides the ability to assign route dominance for routes where no rules exist or where rules cannot be established.
